Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide economical control on tension with a standard type of motor by automatically diminishing and controlling field magnet by regulation of armature voltage and by automatic control of armature current to ensure uniform tension.
CONSTITUTION: Maximum field current is provided by a base field insturction setter BFS and field winding is excited by output if from a field current regulator FR, with signals generated by matching armature voltage as input with the output of an artithmetic unit IO operating as field current instruction lf. Accordingly, strong field magnet is produced in the case of operating at low line speeds and low armature voltage, or the field magnet is weakend as armature voltage is raised. Armature current Ia can be flexibly controlled upon alteration of line speeds, by a function generator FG, and command signal is derived from the output signal from a multiplier/divider MD into which torque instruction ΣT, winding diameter signal D and field signal ϕ have been input
