Abstract

PURPOSE: To bond polyester fibers to an unsaturated polyester resin firmly without toxicity in operations and a solvent recovery, by applying a synthetic rubber latex consisting of a specific monomer such as acrylonitrile, etc. to polyester fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A latex consisting mainly of a synthetic rubber prepared from one or more types of monomers slelcted from the group consisting of acrylonitrile, (meth) acrylate, isoprene, isobutyline, butadiene, styrene, and chloroprene is applied to polyester fibers (a fibrous structure). The fibers are heated preferably at 100W200°C, and a polymer film is formed on the fibers, which are then bonded to an unsaturated polyester resin.
EFFECT: Improves chemical, impact, flexing, and fatigue resistance, tensile and compressive strength, etc. without discoloration and peeling of polyester reinforcing materials
