Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable optimum recording image quality to be obtained despite change in humidity by providing a humidity sensing means and a pulse width regulator and automatically regulating the application time of the voltage to be applied to recording electrodes in correspondence to humidities. CONSTITUTION:Prior to scan-energizing of back electrodes 31, 32, 33..., recording data for 1 line are being introduced into shift registers 8, and respective picture element data are simultaneously parallel outputted and are applied to AND gates 71, 72, 73... A multivibrator 9, triggered by shift pulses SS, produces the pulse of the time width determined by the resistance value of a humidity sensing resistor 10. Hence, switching circuits 41, 42, 43... are ON-energized only by the reference pulse CS within the pulse width of the output HPS of the monostable multivibrator 9 and while one back electrode 3i is being selectively energized by the resistance value of the humidity sensing resistor, the time for applying voltage to the recording electrode 2i opposing thereto is determined.
