Abstract
PURPOSE: The title additive free of sedimentation of pulverized coal even after long- time storage, prepared by adding a specific additive to a specific pulverized coal-oil mixture comprising pulverized coal and water.
CONSTITUTION: One wt.% or less of a polyether having a molecular weight of 1,000W100,000, preferably 3,000W100,000, e.g. polypropylene glycol-polyethylene glycol copolymer, dialkylamine-propylene oxide-ethylene oxide adduct, etc., as an additive is added to a pulverized coal-oil mixture (A) comprising 20W70wt.% of pulverized coal having an average porticle size ≤ 200μ and 7wt.% or less of the total moisture (the moisture added being 3wt.% or less). The mixture (A) is obtained by pulverizing coalinan oil, and by heating at 50W200°C and aplying vigorous agitation at a line or velocity of 2 m/sec or higher
