Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the original unit of fuel for heating, by utilizing the potential heat of steel ingots when heating the steel ingots of rimmed steel and semi-killed ateel at a fixed temp in a soaking pit. CONSTITUTION:Since the track time of the steel ingots of rimmed steel and semi- killed steel is short, non-coagulation rate is high when charging into a soaking pit, and the steel ingots have accumulated heat. Thus, when these ingots reach soaking temp 1320 deg.C by heating these steel ingots in the soabing pit, the quantity of fuel used is reduced at a stroke. Thereafter, fuel is fed using a fixed quantity of the irreducible minimum of the demand as reference flow rate. Since the quantity of potential heat of said steel ingots is large when charging into the soaking pit, temp in the soaking pit does not drop, thus allowing the holding of soaking temp 1320 deg.C for a fixed time. Consequently, the quantity of fuel used for the soaking pit is reduced, thus decreasing the original unit of fuel per steel ingot.
