Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of floor arrival and reduce the shock at floor arrival, by providing two kinds of brake mechanisms which generate a braking force at energizing or at de-eneragizing.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic brake 16, which operates while de-energized, and another electromagnetic brake 17 which operates while energized, are connected to a hoist 15. The energizing current for the brake 17 is varied depending on the load on elevator. When the elevator reaches a desitination floor, the torque of a hoise motor 15 is eliminated by an operating circuit and a braking current corresponding to the elevator load flows through the brake coil of the electromagnetic brake 17 and a braking force corresponding to the elevator load is caused. After a predetermined time, the brake coil of the electromagnetic brake 16 is turned off and this brake also applies a braking force. Thereby, the elevator is stopped safety and accurately
