Abstract

PURPOSE: An ozoner capable of minimizing the lowering of 03 generation per unit discharge power and also of greatly saving electric power, having a system in which the front stage, where O3 concentration is low, of a serial multistage ozonizer is cooled by the usual cooling water and the rear stage, where O3 concentration is high, is cooled by a low temperature refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: The dehumidified raw gas 4 is supplied to the first stage ozonizer to ozonize it to approx. 1/3 of the final O3 concentration, then sent to the second stage ozonizer 2 to ozonize it to approx. 2/3 of the final O3 concentration and lastly sent to the final stage ozonizer 3 to ozonize it completely to the final O3 concentration from which the ozonized gas is delivered to O3-using place 13. In this case, the ozonizers 1 and 2 are cooled by using the cooling water used in the cooling tower 5, and the ozonizer 3 is cooled by using a refrigerant cooled by the refrigerator 11 to a low temperatur. In consequence, the lowering of the O3 generation efficiency of the ozonizers 1 and 2 is trifling because of their comparatively low O3 concentrations, and also the power for refrigerator can be curtailed to 1/3 because the ozonizer 3 alone is cooled by the refrigerator
