Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance operational efficiency and to improve working conditions by making the aligning of long slabs on line by providing spot scarfer, cutter, inverter, fin-cutting scarfer, and balance on the same line. PURPOSE:Long slab is charged to line by crane 7 and the scars on the furnace is removed by the spot scarfer 1. Then, the slab is inverted by the inverter 2 and then transferred to the spot scarfer 3 for removal of scars on the back. The slab is then cut into an appropriated length by the flame cutter 4 and then the cut fin on the back is turned upward by the inverter 5 to remove the cut fin by the fin cutting scarfer 6. Then, the slab is weighed by the balance 8 and then sent to the slab yard by the crane 9. The use of this aligning method enables one to save the lobors and also to make the remove control of the whole operations, thus improving on the operational environment.
