Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a drug for soft capsule which can be subjected to sutomatic encapsulation without lowering the stability of the active component thereof, by adding an oleaginous solvent to soy bean oil cake useful as a hyperlipemia and anti-arteriosclerotic agent.
CONSTITUTION: Soy bean oil cake containing vegetable sterols and natural sterols as main components, is mixed with an oleaginous solvent to afford a drug for filling in a soft capsule. The oleaginous solvent is selected from those which are oily at room temperature, excellent in the compatibility with soy bean oil cake, and inert to the active components of the drug; e.g. vegetable oil such as soy bean oil, fatty acid ester, and a triglyceride of mixed fatty acid pref. containing caprilic acid and capric acid in a ratio of 75:25. The amount of the oleaginous solvent is 150W 10wt%, pref. 100W50wt%, based on the soy bean oil cake.
