Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled rolling mill which can prevent the excessive torque and can reduced the rolling load, by installing the speed setting circuit in either one of driving motors for mutually adjoining work roll and backup roll, and by installing the torque controlling circuit in another driving motor.
CONSTITUTION: The speed of upper-work-roll-driving-motor 3 is settled by the speed setting circuit consisting of the speed setter 7, speed detector 8 and adder 9; the torque instruction signal for other motors 4, 6, whose speeds are not settled yet, as the function of the torque signal 10 for the motor 3 obtained through the comparator 12 of the torque controlling circuit, can be given by the instructor 13 simultaneously in the normal and reverse directions. For instance, when the toque of the upper- work-roll-driving-motor is taken as 50%, and the torque of the lower-work- roll- driving-motor 4 is taken as 30% and the torque of the backup-roll-driving-motor 6 is taken as 20%, the torque distribution between the upper and lower work rolls 1, 2, becomes 70:30. This distribution can be done arbitrarily and automatically.
