Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound continuously under atmospheric pressure in high yield by the treatment of chlorosilane, which is supplied continuously through the top of a vertical reaction vessel, with a necessary amount of a monovalent alcohol which is supplied dividedly and continuously through a plurality of inlets equipped below the chlorosilane inlet.
CONSTITUTION: Chlorosilane of formulaI(R1=H or C1-8 monovalent hydrocarbon; n=1-4) stored in a tank 1 is supplied from the top of a vertical reaction vessel 5 through the dividing equipment for the supply of the chlorosilane. A monovalent alcohol of R2-OH (R2=C1-8 monovalent hydrocarbon) in a tank 2 is divided into two or more parts through the dividing equipment 131, 132...13n, and is supplied continuously to contact with the chlorosilane. An alkoxysilane of formula II (m>n) obtained is continuously taken out through a pump 11. HCl gas by-product and unreacted substances are condensed through condensers 6 and 7. The HCl condensate is removed and the others are recycled into the reaction vessel.
EFFECT: Operation at comparatively high temp. is possible.
