Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent degradation of service life of a halogen lamp due to oxidation of lead wires and anchor, by inserting the lead wires and anchor into a plurality of holes formed in a support member made of glass having a high melting point, and fixing them firmly in place while heating them in the atmosphere of a non- oxidizing gas.
CONSTITUTION: Lead wires 6, 6' and filament supporting anchor 7 of halogen lamp are fixed to a support member 2 made of synthetic quarz having a high melting point. Here, holes 8 for inserting the lead wires 6, 6' and anchor 7 therethrough are pre-formed in the support member 2, and they are inserted into these holes 8 and fixed in place by heating the same in the atmosphere of an inert gas or reducing gas and thus softening the support member 2. Lead wires 6, 6' and anchor 7 of the halogen lamp thus manufactured are not subjected to oxidation so that degradation of its service life due to impure gases can be prevented in using the same as hologen lamp
