Abstract

PURPOSE: To restore unmanned VTOL aircraft with ease, by switching the flight condition of acircraft from horizontal to vertical while the arifraft is descending slowly with its parachute being opened, and landing the aircraft at the fixed point on the ground or on the board of a ship.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust nozzle 5 used for vertical flight of VTOL aircraft is equipped with control vanes 10, 11 and 12, 13 which are turned respectively about axis X' -X' parallel to the longitudinal axis X-X of the body of aircraft and axis Y'- Y' parallee to the lateral axis Y-Y of the aircraft, so as to compensate rolling, pitching and yawing of the aircraft body during vertical flight of the aircraft. A drag parachute 14 is stored in cylindrical rear end of aircraft body 1. The cylindrical portion 15 is separated from the aircraft body 1 a certain time after the dragparachute 14 is opened, and main parachute 17 is drawn out and opened, whereby the aircraft 1 is allowed to descend with its body being kept in landing position. In this while, guide vanes 6, 7 are turned to their vertical flight condition, and the aircraft 1 is enabled to land on the ground or on a ship smoothly while increasing the thrust (propulsive force) of engine 2.
