Abstract
PURPOSE: To readily obtain the musical tone signal of the timbres close to those of natural tones by applying an envelope signal to a modulating signal and inputting the same to a voltage control amplifier when the sound source signal is on the specified level order.
CONSTITUTION: When the rectified voltage of a sound source signal by a rectifier circuit 6 exceeds threshold voltage, a comparator 7 products its output which in turn operates an envelope generating circuit 8 to generate the envelope signal which has been so set that its rise is fast and attenuates exponential-functionally and the attenuation time thereof becomes shorter than the envelope of the musical tone signals. This signal is combined with the modulating signal in a mixing circuit 4 and the composite signal inputs a voltage control amplifier 2. Since the constant C of the amplifier 2 changes with time according to this signal, the second order harmonic overtone signal is envelop-formed and if the even number order harmonic overtones other than this are contained, these are similarly envelope-formed. Thereby the musical tone signals of the timbres close to those of natural tones may be obtained.
