Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the musical tone signals of the same envelope as that of sound source signals and converted frequencies by multiplying the sound source signals and the signals having frequency modulated the sound source signals.
CONSTITUTION: The mechanical vibrations of the musical instrument are detected with a pickup and are made to the sound source signal of a basic frequency fi. This signal is then applied to a voltage control type amplifier 14. On the other hand, the sound source signal is made to the modulating signal of m/m (m, n are natural numbers) of the frequency fi by passing through a clipper circuit 16 and a frequency dividing circuit 17 and is then applied to an amplifier 14. These both signals are multiplied by the amplifier 14 to be made to the musical tone signal whose frquency has become m/n times that of the sound source signal with no change in envelope waveform, thus the musical tone signal of the same envelope as that of the original tones and the frequencies converted higher or lower by a desired octave number may be formed with the simple constitution.
