Abstract
PURPOSE: The title coating compostion capable of forming a film having improved adhesivity by Erichsen test, resistance to salt spray exposure, and stain resistance, consisting of a polyester modified vinyl resin, a reaction product of a specific unsaturated polyester resin with a vinyl monomer mixture, and a curing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A) A polyester modified vinyl resin obtained by reacting a) 5W50 wt.% of an unsaturated polyester resin consisting of 10W50 wt.% of a methyl substituted hydrogenated phthalic acid(anhydride), 1W10wt.% of an α, β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, 0W40 wt.% of other acid component, and 30-70 wt.% of a polyfunctional alcohol component with b) 50W95 wt.% of a vinyl monomer mixture consisting of 5W50 wt.% of a mono(di)ester of α, β-monoethylenic unsaturated dicarboxylic acid shown by the formula(R1 and R2 are H or 1W8C alkyl), 5W50 wt.% of a hydroxyalkyl ester of α, β-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid, and 0 W90 wt.% of other monomer is blended with B) a crosslinking agent, e.g., a minoplast resin.
