Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a resin compsn. having good moldability which produce a protective film having a good molded appearance, consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and an olefin polymer contg. a copolymerized unsaturated carboxylicacid or an olefin polymer blended with another olefin polymer obtd. by subjecting the olefin polymer to oxidation treatment, or a mixture thereof.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided an olefin polymer compsn. consisting of (A) 2W50wt% of polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification value of not more than 85mol% and (B) 89W50wt% of a member selected from (a) an olefin polymer contg. 0.01W10wt% of a copolymerized unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride thereof, (b) an olefin polymer blended with another olefin polymer (obtd. by subjecting the olefin polymer to oxidation treatment) in such a proportion as to give a blend having an acid value of 0.01W10 and (c) a mixture of these polymers. An example of (a) is polyethylene-(meth)acrylic acid. An example of (b) is a blend obtd. by subjecting polyethylene to oxidation treatment and diluting the polyethylene with a diluent olefin polymer. The polyethylene is blended with the diluent olefin polymer in such a proportion as to give a blend having an acid value of 0.01W10.
