Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the above-identified tube, in which mating portions provided along its longitudinal slit are united together by passing strings through holes formed in the mating portions or applying adhesive thereto so that the mating portions are brought into close contact with each other when it is thermally contracted.
CONSTITUTION: A thermally contractable tube 1 has a longitudinal slit, along which pair mating portions 4 upright in the radial direction are provided. These mating portions 4 are each formed with holes 5 spaced apart at a constant interval in the longitudinal direction, and they are united together by passing strings through these holes or applying adhesive to them so that they will not be separated from each other at the time of the thermal contraction of the tube 1. The tube 1 is also provided on the inside with an adhesive 2 for enhancing the gas-tight property of it. Further, a tongue portion 3 is provided such that it will overlap part of the tube 1 when the mating portions 4 are joined together and thus further enhance the gas-tightness.
