Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a damage to the fuel effectively by coating the inside of fuel tube with graphite of a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:The nuclear fuel pellet 1 consisting of uranium dioxide or mixed oxides is put in the fuel sheath tube 2 made of zircaloy, the tube 2 is sealed with the stopper 4 through the spring 3 and welded after helium gas is filled. The inside of tube 2 is coated with graphite layer 5. The ratio V/D of the volume V of graphite layer 5 per the unit length 1mum of tube to the diameter D of tube is made more than 15mum up to 126mum.
