Abstract

PURPOSE: A ring opening polymer composition having improved oxidative stability at service temperatures free from lowering of mechanical properties, comprising a triazine ring-containing phenol and a dicarboxylic acid hydrazide.
CONSTITUTION: A uniform composition prepared by incorporating (A) 100 parts by wt. of a ring opening polymer obtained from a norbornene derivative having at least one polar group or at least 50 mole% of the norbornene derivative and at most 50 mole% of a cycloolefin compound with (B) 0.01W10.0 parts by wt. of a triazine ring-containing phenol of formula I:(R1 and R2 are alkyl groups), (C) 0.01W10.0 parts by wt. of a dicarboxylic acid hydrazide of formula II:(R3 and R7 are H, alkyl groups, etc., R4 and R6 are H, alkyl groups, etc.; R5 is alkylene, alkenylene group, etc.), and, if necessary, (D) a carboxylate thioether (a thiodicarboxylate) and/or a phosphite.
