Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition, wherein the crazing is prevented in warm water and steam, with retained properties, e.g. transparency, heat resistance, and mechanical strength, comprising a copolymer having a specific structure containing (meth)acrylates.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of an aromatic polyester obtained from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its functional derivative dicarboxylic acid or its functional derivative, (B) 0.1W10 parts by wt., preferably 0.3W5 parts by wt. of a copolymer having the second-order transition point of 5W 60°C and an average molecular weight of 1,500W30,000, prepared by copolymerizing a monomer mixture of 30 wt.% or more of methacrylates or acrylates of formula I: (R1 is H or CH3; R2 is 1W14C alkyl group) and 3W40 wt.% of a monomer of formula II: (R1 is H or CH3), 5W50 wt.% of (meth)acrylonitrile or styrene is copolymerized to impart a proper melt viscosity to the copolymer.
