Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition having improved storage stability and curing characteristics, capable of forming a film having improved physical properties and good appearance, and no defect in thick coating, obtained by adding a transition element-containing compound and a radical generator to an air-drying polyester solid at a room temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of an airdrying polyester solid at a room temperature obtained from a starting material containing an unsaturated alicylic compound shown by the formula (R1 and R2 are H or 1W10C alkyl; R3 is 1W20C bifunctional residue or O, N, or S-containing 1W20C fifunctional residue) is blended with B) not more than 1 part by wt., preferably 0.0001W1 part by wt. of a transition element-containing compound, e.g., cobalt naphthenate, and C) 0.01W 5 parts by wt., preferably 0.05W3 parts by wt. of a radical generator, e.g., dicumyl peroxide, to give the desired compound.
