Abstract

PURPOSE:To automate the operation and to reduce the maintenance cost without necessity of manual handling like as the conventional method, by installing the marking mechanism constituted of the marking head of special function, the cylindrical member, the pen holder, etc., in the marking device. CONSTITUTION:The marking head 1 is borne by the operating arm 3 through the cross head 2, so as to be freely movable in the direction of X, Y axes. The cylindrical member 12 with open front is attached to the head 1, perpendicularly to the axes X, Y; the pen holder 9, holding the freely detachable marking pen 8, is attached to the member 12 so as to be freely slidable. The penpoint 14 of the pen 8 is contacted against the material 24 to be marked, the back face of the holder 9 is pressed according to the marking start signal; hereby, the pulse motor 4, etc., are driven, the penpoint 14 scans over the surface of the material 24, and the marking of the first character is executed; after that, the pen 8 is retreated and is moved to the specified position, and the marking of the second character is executed similarly to above. The penpoint 14 is capped with the cap 16 while being out of use, to prevent the evaporation of the ink. The inexpensive sign pen available from market can be satisfactory for use of the pen 8.
