Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the discharge device as well as to enhance the destaticizing capacity and the degree of focusing by providing plural units of corona discharge electrodes which are independent electrically within the corona discharge unit in the electronic copying machine and then adjusting these electrodes with control element each.
CONSTITUTION: For the corona discharge unit of the electronic copying machine which forms the electrostatic latent image on the photo sensitive drum and with copying the developed image to the copying material in order to obtain the copied object, the plural units of the output of the high- voltage AC sent from boosting transformer 22 are supplied to discharge electrode 26 and 27 of unit 25 independent electrically to each other via the impedance element in which diodes 23-1∼23- 4 and resistances 24-1∼24-4 are connected in series. And these electrodes are surrounded with shielding component 28 which possesses the opening part to increase the charging directivity to photosensitive drum 29. Then the charging potential and the polarity can be made different for the photoreceptor formed by electrode 26 and 27 by selecting optionally the resistance value of each serial impedance element, thus performing charging of the photoreceptor plus formation, copying, destaticization and others for the latent image.
