At this time, CPU8 detects the operation of contact 13 through detection circuit 5 and also detects that the relay line was used for the transmission of information inadequate for storing and resending, and selective connection circuit 6 is operated to make a connection between modulator and demodulator 7 which was connected to the relay line and transmits and receives information adequate for storing and resending and the other relay line to which information inadequate for storing and resending has not been transmitted. Consequently, modulator and demodulator 7 which transmits and receives information adequate for storing resending can be used in common by several repeaters.
