Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent gas explosion from electric accidents by performing the transmission of mesuring pulses of gas meters by light.
CONSTITUTION: Light radiated from the LED of a light pulse receiver 2 is tramsitted to a gas meter 1 through an optical guide 3 and is radiated from its opening part 7 toward the opening part 8 of an optical guide 4. When the disc 6 of the gas meter 1 is rotated in response to measurement of gas, the light radiated from the opening part 7 to the opening part 8 is periodically cut off. The light having entered the opening part 8 is radiated to the photo detecting part 10 of the photo transistor Q of the light pulse receiver 2. This causes the photo transistor Q to be ON- OFF controlled by the intermittent radiation of light. In this way, the rotation of the disc 6 rotating in response to measurment of the gas meter 1 may be observed at the output end 9 of the light pulse receiver 2. Hence, gas explosion or the like from electric accident may be prevented.
