While terminal AA is negative and BB is positive, i.e., in the case of the backward time, the circuit is formed in the route of anode reactor 29 - thyristor 7 - anode reactor 28 - thyristor 6 - anode reactor 27 - thyristor 5 - terminal AA. Thus, anode reactor 27 and 28 are shared in the forward and backward time, and accordingly the units of the anode reactor can be reduced without altering the circuit constant.
