Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify cutting and sewing processes, to make the up and down movement of the wick smooth and eliminate odor at the time of ignition, by weaving the combustion part and the fuel suction part into an integated body.

CONSTITUTION: By a loom, the ends of combustion part 1 and fuel suction part 2 are shaped like comb-teeth, which are fitted together and woven with many weft threads 4 by chain weaving and thus they are made into an integrated body. To facilitate fire spreading at the time of ignition, the end part of combustion part 1 is cut in indentation. In the process of cutting, it is a good method to set the upper end of cylindrical body 3 as a guide. By this, the distance between the upper edge of cylindrical body 3 and the end of the wick is made uniform all around. At the time of weaving, ear 5 is formed at the end part of the wick before it is cut so as to give it toughness. The position of jig 6 is determined inrefernce to ear 5 and the upper end of cylindrical body 3. By this positioning, the distance between weft thread 4a and the upper end of cylindrical body 3 is fixed, and also the distance between the end of the wick after it is cut and weft thread 4a is fixed.
