Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to move various types of tools inside, for example, a vertical pipe passage, by reducing its slipperiness compared with wheels or rollers.
CONSTITUTION: First, by operating valve 13, a compressed fluid is sent to expansion chamber 3' from inlet pipe 17 via conduit 1. By this, diaphragm 3 expands and comes into close contact with the inner wall of pipe 2, which makes the moving part (the self-traveling part) of the device into the unmovable state. Next, by operating valve 15, the compressed fluid is poured into bellows 4 via conduit 1". Then, bellows 4 expands, and while pressing spring 7, it pushes cylinder 11 forward. Next, the moving part is made into the unmovable state by operating valve 14. Then, by operating valves 13 and 15 properly, cylinder 6 is made to advance. Finally, by operating valve 14, it is restored to its former state. By repeating this cycle, it is possible to advance the moving part step by step.
