Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce air intake noise as well as to improve air intake property, by lengthening a nose tube at the time of high speed and by shortening it at the time of low speed, in provision of a tube extendible in proportion to running draft at the tip of the nose tube of an automotive air cleaner.
CONSTITUTION: A nose tube 8 having its tip part 15 is connected to an air cleaner 7 for an engine 6 housed in an engine room 1. A socket tube 12 linked with an extendible tube 13 is fixed in a chamber 9 which is conducted through a louver 10 to outside, and has a separating plate 11 for air from liquid. And the other end of the extendible tube 13 is positioned in free command of moving forward and backward at the nose tip part 15. At the time when the engine is running at low speed, the extendible tube 13 remains contracted, inhaled air is drawn in through the tipe part 15, and when the engine comes up to its high speed, air flowing in through the louver 10 presses a draft pressure receiving part 14, the extendible tube 13 extends, the intake part will be the length in addition of the socket tube 12, the extendible tube 13 and the nose tube 8.
