Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover the perfomance of used active carbon to new level, active carbon used for adsorption treatment of waste water containing salts such as Na2SO4 is heated for regeneration, and washed with water continuous or batch system, removing accumulated salts.
CONSTITUTION: Active carbon used for adsorption treatment of waste water containing Na2SO4 or sulfonic acid is heated and regenerated. The regenerated carbon is then washed with water in continuous or batch system, thereby removing deposited salts. The process recovers the active carbon performance to a level higher than that obtained by conventional manner, nearly to fresh activity.
