Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition curable at low temperatures without using a catalyst, capable of forming a film having improved gloss, adhesivity, hardness, flexibility, and chemical resistance, obtained by blending aminplastic resin with a specific alkyd resin having hydroxyl-groups.
CONSTITUTION: A) A hydroxyl group-containing alkyd resin having an acid value of 10W35, preferably 15W25, obtained by polycondensation of a) an alkyd resin having an acid value not more than 8, preferably not more than 5 and hydroxyl number of 80W200, obtained by polycondensation polyacid, preferably one containing not less than 50 wt.% an aromatic acid, with a polyhydric alcohol, and a higher fatty acid having 10W26C and b) 0.9W17 wt.%, preferably 1.2W10.5 wt.% of a polyacid anhydride (preferably maleic anhydride) are blended with B) an amino aminoplastic resin in a blend ratio of A) to B) of 60:40W90:10, preferably 65:35W 85:15.
