Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject device wherein the opening part of a hollow object to be measured is arranged in an acoustic field or a white noise field swept in frequency, and acoustical measuring means is used, thereby to be able to accurately measure the filling quantity, capacity, liquid surface level and the like. CONSTITUTION:A loud speaker 5 and a microphone 6 are provided at positions near to the opening of a bottle 2 carried to a measuring position 4 by means of a carrier 3. The field in the vicinity of the opening 2a assumes a resonant state by a sound wave generated from a speaker 5, and the frequency sound pressure characteristic shows a remarkable peak at an inherent vibrational number. This sound pressure is detected by a microphone 6, and an analyzing output corresponding to the frequency showing the peak from a frequency analyzer 8 is taken out. A discriminating device 9 discriminates whether or not the frequency detected on the basis of the analyzing output is on a liquid filling level, that is, within the frequency range corresponding to the suitable value of the filling quantity, and discrimination whether or not the filling quantity of the bottle 2 is properly carried out.
