Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition having improved yellowing resistance and primary properties of nitrocellulose, by adding a cyano compound and a metallic salt of a bifunctional organic acid to nitrocellulose-containing acrylic lacquer.
CONSTITUTION: A) Nitrocellulose-containing acrylic lacquer is blended with B) a) an alkyl diphenylmethylenecyanoacetate shown by the formula I (R is alkyl) and/or b) a cyano compound of diphenylmethylenemalonitrile C) one or more metallic salts of bifunctional organic acids, e.g., zinc oxalate, and, if necessary, D) a plasticizer, a pigment, etc. to give the desired composition. 0.1W0.6 parts by wt. of the ingredient C is used with one part by wt. of the ingredient B. The ingredients B and C are preferably added to a coating compound in a step of its preparation.
