Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the position of a running car with good accuracy and in high responsibility and improve its economy by applying electromagnetic coupling system between the ground and the car and using a propulsion coil itself as the signal propulsion medium.
CONSTITUTION: A coil of air core frame structure, that is, loop type is used for transmission. The air core frame coil 14 is fit to a running car 15 facing a propulsion coil 1 and in addition a sine wave oscillation circuit is equipped. Singal current is generated in the stated propulsion coil 1 by the alternate magnetic field given to a frame coil 14 through this oscillation circuit. On the other hand a branch circuit 8 and a signal composite circuit 18 are equipped near a propulsion current supply unit 7 on the ground part, the propulsion current is separated through the branch circuit from the signal current generated in the stated propulsion coil 1. Detection signals, etc. including the relative information to the position of the propulsion coil are enabled to be obtained by dealing the branched signal current with the composite circuit 18.
