Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve heat-resisting capability of an arc electrode, which is used for plasma jet, etc., by rotating it in a high-calorie flame while cooling it from inside so that heat is dispersed.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical rotor 3 which is attached in a free-to-rotate position by means of a blind hole 2 is provided at front end of a stationary inner tube 1 which also serves the purpose of a cooling media supply passage, and a stationary outer tube 5 which covers tail section outer circumference of the rotor 3 in a free-to-rotate position and forms a cooling media discharging passage 4 between it and the inner tube 1 is provided at outside of the inner tube 1. A sliding receiver 6 which receives the rotor is provided on interior wall surface of the outer tube 5, and by providing a vane 9 on an inner tube surface of the blind hole 2, cooling media jetted out to a space 8 is made to pass through a circular passage 9 and then discharged from the discharging passage 4. When flow of the cooling media turns back at the vane section 9, the flow pressure gives rotating force to the rotor 3 pressing the rotor rear section's tapered surface 7b to tapered surface 7a of the outer tube 5 so that the sliding receiver 6 is tightly closed to prevent the cooling media from leaking.
