Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the driving of a semiconductor motor, by using an AC signal as a carrier for power for driving a rotor position detecting Hall element and amplitude-modulating the Hall element itself depending on the intensity of a magnetic field and detecting the output signal of the Hall element to produce a signal for the semiconductor motor.
CONSTITUTION: A current controlled by a transistor 7 is caused to flow through a motor winding 6. The Hall element 13 is used as a magnetism sensor 9 for detecting the rotational position of the motor. A modulated signal is obtained from the Hall element by the action of an oscillator 10. The output signal of the Hall element is removed of high-frequency component by a demodulator 11 and then applied to an AND circuit 20. A speed control circuit 15 comprises a frequency-to-voltage converter 16, a set-speed-to-voltage converter 17, a comparator 18 and a voltage- pulse-width modulator 19. The output signal of the modulator 19 is applied to the AND circuit 20 to produce a control signal for the transistor.
