Abstract

PURPOSE: To render uniform the contact pressure between an axially-split wedge- shaped conductor and connection conductors, by interposing the connection conductors between the shoulders of the wedge-shaped conductor and projections on a recess so that a brake winding is composed of the wedge-shaped conductor and the connection conductors.
CONSTITUTION: The split wedge-shaped conductor 14 is inserted into the recess 3 of a magnetic pole section 1a and placed on a spacer 6. The connection conductors 15 are interposed between the shoulders 14a of the wedge-shaped conductor 14 and the prodjections 3a on the recess. These conductors 14, 15 constitute the brake winding. Even if a centrifugal force due to the rotation of a rotor acts on the con ductors 14, 15, they are maintained in sufficient contact with each other and the contact pressure is uniform and the contact resistance is low because the cross section of the wedge-shaped conductor 14 is large. A brake winding in a recess for a coil can be also standardized in the same way.
