Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the convulsion of fine particles, by providing fluid-passage holes in the inner part of the screw vane of a screw conveyor and causing the fluid to flow to the over-flow side along the screw axis, and thereby slowing down the speed of fluid flow.
CONSTITUTION: Fluid-passage holes 8 are provided in the inner part of screw vane 7 of screw-vane conveyor 2. The fluid which is formed into a clear liquid layer by the centrifugal force is caused to flow through these passage holes 8 to the over-flow side along screw axis 9. At this time, the fluid-passage area is expanded by fluid- passage holes 8, and as a result the speed of the flowing fluid is slowed down. Consequently, the fine particles which were made to float by the kinetic energy of the fluid settle, and thereby the rate of fine particle separation and recovery is increased.
