Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a radiation cooling apparatus being able to make the direct power for cooling unnecessary by using the substance which selectively absorbs and radiates electromagnetic waves as an effective radiation plane.
CONSTITUTION: Applied to the apparatus used for radiating electromagnetic waves ranging from 8 to 13.5μ in wavelength (infrared ray) skyward, the cylindrical, parabolic in section, and concave mirror 1 comprises a white paint coated aluminum plate 1a, a double walls 1b having an evacuated internal space 1c, and a heat insulator 1e filled between said members 1a and 1b. In the vicinity of a focus of the concave mirror 1 is disposed a heat radiating tube 2 having a coating 2a consisting of the material absorbing the electromagnetic waves of said wavelength, The opening portion of the mirror 1 is covered with electromagnetic transmission membranes 3. Within the heat radiation tube 2 is circulated a cooling medium by means of a pump for cooling the tube.
