Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably perform AC RMS control to a load, the power-factor of which varies sharply, with a good response by automatically selecting a gain constant according to the magnitude and power-factor of load.
CONSTITUTION: The current setting unit 1a delivers a digital value proportional to the setting value of current, the effective current detectisng unit 8a delivers a digital value proportional to the effective current of load. The deviation detecting unit 2a subtracts a value proportional to the load current from a value proportional to the setting value of current, and delivers a digital value of the difference. The effective current at 90° of the ignition angle just after the operation start and the angle θ of lag are stored in the memory 11 and memory 12 respectively, the relation between the angle θ of lag at 90° of ignition angle and the load power-factor ϕ is stoed in the memory 13. The value of load power-factor ϕ to the angle θ of lag develops at the output of memory by selecting the address of memory according to the value of θ. In this way, the RMS control to a load the power-factor of which varies sharply can be stably performed with a good response.
