Abstract

PURPOSE: To attenuate rolling of ship body, by providing plate blades at the curved lower portion of broadsides on both sides of the ship body with suitable intervals along the length of the ship body, said plate blades being shaped such that chord length at the top end of the blade is smaller than that at the base portion of the blade in its plan view, and giving a sweepback angle at a portion of or along the entire length of the leading edge of the baldes.
CONSTITUTION: A multiplicity of plate blades 1 having a triangular shape are provided at the curved lower porition 2 of broadsides on both sides of the ship body with suitable intervals along the length of ship body, so as to attenuate rolling of ship body by the lift obtained by these plate blades 1. Here, arrangement for the badles is such that chord length at the base portion 3 of blades where they are attached to the curved portion 2 of ship body is larger than that at the top end 4 of badles, and a proper sweepback angle is given to a portion of or along the entire length of leading edge 5 of the blades. By thus shaping the plate badles in the above shape, a required effect for attenuating rolling of the ship body can be obtained.
