Abstract

PURPOSE: To offer a tube repairing method with which plugging the tube ends are not requested and heat exchanging function is not interrupted, by inserting a repair tube in the heat exchange tube having a flaw in such a way as covering the whole flaw part and thereafter expanding this repair tube in the radial direction.
CONSTITUTION: In order to repair a flaw 4 generated at the tube end part of a heat exchange tube 2 inserted in a pit 3 provided in the tube plate 1, first a repair tube 5 having an outside diameter a little smaller than the heat exchange tube's 2 inside diameter a, is inserted into this heat exchange tube 2 in such a way as covering the flaw part. Then the repair tube and the heat exchange tube are expanded together in the radial direction with force applied from inside the tubes so that the repair tube's outside surface and the heat exchage tube's inside surface are in close contact each other in the appropriate area surrounding the flaw. Thus the leakage of heat exchange medium from the flaw part can be checked.
