Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the operation of fixing a pair of sleeves in thru-holes formed in two members of a ship made of FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) with a given spacing from each other, by inserting said pair of sleeves from both openings of said thru-holes and coupling the sleeves with each other by way of press fitting.
CONSTITUTION: A couple of thru-holes 12, 12 ar formed respectively in stem deck 2a and extension 3a of gunnel 3 of a FRP ship, and sleeves 10, 11 are fitted respectively into these thru-holes 12, 12 and fixed in place. Sleeves 10, 11 are formed with flanges 10a, 11a, respectively. In coupling these skeeves 10, 11 with each other, they are inserted into respective thru-holes 12, 12 from the outside thereof until flanges 10a, 11a come into abutment with peripheral portions of thru-holes 12, 12, so as to press fit the sleeves at their tapered portions 10b, 11b. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to easily fix sleeves in thru-holes formed in two members of ship body.
