Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a re-liquefying apparatus for LPG, NH3 etc., the apparatus which is capable of keeping the compressor outlet temp. in a safe limit, by heat exchange of a portion of compressed gas of the first stage with a portion of the liq. of a condenser in an intermediate cooler, then by uniting the cold gas to the gas of second compression stage. CONSTITUTION:LPG gas compressed at the first and the second compression stages 1a, 1b of a compressor 1 is liquefied by means of a condenser 2 and a main expansion valve 4. In the case of NH3 gas with large adiabatic constant, a portion of the gas at the compression stage 1a is delivered to an intermediate cooler 3. The gas is cooled with cold fluid introduced from the condenser 2 through an auxiliary expansion valve 5, and the cold gas formed through evaporation is united to the compression stage 1b by way of a connetcing pipe 12b. Hereby, the temp. at the outlet 11b of the compressor is kept at a prescribed temp. or under, and the liquefaction is carried out smoothly. The compression stage 1b receives more fluid than the stage 1a by an amount of cooling gas, hence the compression stage is unloaded through an unloading valve 6 by the amount.
