Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate hair winding and to finish hair curling by attaching to an engaging plate an auxiliary member which comprises a resilient seat or an arcuate plate having hair tip enagaging function.
CONSTITUTION: A rod member 1 including an electric heater 2 has a columnar, curved surface and is fixed on a supporting housing. An elongated hair enagaging plate 3 is arranged opposite the curved surface with its arcuate surface facing the curved surface. The rod member 1 and the hair engaging plate 3 are supported so as to selectively form a clearance therebetween. An elastic seat or a rigid, arcuate plate 4 is mounted on the hair engaging plate 3 disengageably in the width direction through one side of the hair engaging plate. In operation, if a finger B put on a stopper 10 slides to draw out the seat 4 in the hair winding direction, the hair tips are wound around the rod member 1 and held between the rod member 1 and the seat 4. Then, the apparatus is turned in the same direction to wind the hair around the rod member 1.
