Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify piping for cooling water by lessening the number of each stave rack by providing brick racks staggeringly on every other line vertically and circumferentially in the inside of the cooling stave of blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The stave wtih the rack 5 and the stave 2 with the rack 5' are provided to the iron skin 1 circumferentially in every other line at the same level in the inside of blast furnace. And, the jack arch type brick rack 6 is provided in every other line at the concavities between the racks 5 and 5 and between the racks 5' and 5'. With this method, the same effect as the effect that two or three brick racks can be lined up on one stave by using one brick receiving rack can be obtained, thus the number of the brick receiving racks of stave can be correspondingly lessened and the piping for cooling water can be simplified. Accordingly, damage to stave is reduced and thus the life of furnace is lengthened.
