Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the camber of the metallic strip, and to improve quality of product, by required angle inclining the pass line of the rolling mill in the reverse direction to the direction generating the sheet camber, correspondingly to the variation of peripheral speed rati of work rolls.
CONSTITUTION: The peripheral speed ratio v0/v1 of upper and lower work rolls 2, 3, is inputted by the setter 12 to the arithmetic unit 13, and the motors 10, 11, are deiven. Depending on the set peripheral speed ratio, the vertical movement of upper and lower work rolls 24, 15, for obtaining the angle of inclination Ψ necessary for flattening the metallic strip 5, is operated by the arithmetic unit 3, and the resulted signal is sent to the controller 14. The signal sent to the arithmetic unit 14 is given to the control valve 17, whose spool is then switched; and the oil is sent from the power unit 18 to the hydraulic cylinder 16 which vertically moves the lower roll 15 and the upper roll 24 by a specified distance. Besides, the upper roll 24 is vertically moved by the power unit correspondingly to the thickness of the metallic strip S on the exit side of the rolling mill, and the gap between upper and lower work rolls 24, 15, becomes the required size, so that the sheet free from the camber can be obtained.
