Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively retain electric shock insect killing function by adding an insect killing number detecting circuit to an electric shock insect killer.
CONSTITUTION: An insect killing number detecting circuit 8 consisting of an insect killing detector 16 and an indicator 21 is added to an electric shock insect killer composed of a high voltage transformer 3, an electric shock lattice 4, and fluorescent lamp 6, etc. When an insect is caught by the lattice 4, high voltage is applied to the insect to kill the insect, and current flown through the insect is applied through a current transformer 10 and a diode 11 to a resistor 13. A voltage occurs across the resistor 13 to conduct a transistor 14 to cause the emitter resistor 15 to occur insect killing voltage. A counter 17 counts the voltage. When the counts of the counter 17 reach predetermined number, a light emission diode 19 emits light to warn the fact that the lattice 4 is apprehended to be shorted to notify the necessity of cleaning the dead insects.
