Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the works for constructing sound-insulating ceiling of ship, by supporting main beams with suspending elements, fixing I-beams equidistantly in a direction perpendicular to the main beams, fitting marginal members along respective side walls at the same level, and inserting sound-insulating ceiling panels between respective I-beams and between marginal members and I-beams.
CONSTITUTION: Main beams 3 are suspended by means of suspending angles 2 in the manner that they extend laterally at the upper portion of a confined room R which is to be boarded with ceiling, and logitudinal I-beams 4 are fixed to the main beams 3 with uniform intervals. Marginal members 5, 5' are fitted along respective side walls at the same level with the I-beams 4. Ceiling panels 1 are fitted between respective I-beams 4 and between marginal members 5, 5' on the side walls and I-beams 4. Said ceiling panels 1 are formed in a sound-insulating construction with asbestos plate (a), glass wool (b), sound-absorbing plate (c) and frame member (d). In the above arrangement, one of marginal members 5, 5' is extended toward the inside of room R longer than the other, thereby it is enabled to insert the last ceiling panel with ease in fitting ceiling panels 1 at the upper portion of the room R.
